I am an Economist in the Impact Evaluation unit of the Development Research Group (DECRG) at the World Bank. I work primarily in the areas of development economics, with a focus on gender, violence, education, and transport.
My ongoing projects study the economic consequences of sexual harassment in public spaces, assess how the structure of the marriage market in India contributes to sex selection, and examine the effects of teacher identity on student performance along with the underlying mechanisms.
My work has been featured by Quartz, The Hindustan Times, Le Monde, The World Bank, BBC Radio and The New Statesman.
