I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Economics department at Brown University in Providence, RI. I work primarily in the areas of development economics, with a focus on gender, education, and transport.
My ongoing projects study the economic consequences of sexual harassment in public spaces, assess how the structure of the marriage market in India contributes to sex selection, and examine the effects of teacher identity on student performance along with the underlying mechanisms.
My work has been featured by Quartz, The Hindustan Times, Le Monde, The World Bank, andThe New Statesman.
I am on the job market this year and will be available for interviews at the AEA/ASSA annual meeting in Philadelphia in January, 2018.
